01.09.2009:NETTO

We were notified last month about another „holiday victim”... Netto was locked by Netto network shop in our town. He was waiting all day in the heat, without water for his master to come back… When shop was closed employees discovered, that no one will come back for Netto… He is a young Labrador mix. His black fur is still clean-cut, but his mentality did suffer after he was abandoned…
NETTO

20.08.2009:LABRADORS

We were notified that in one of villages near Gorzów, two young Labradors are kept in very bad conditions (probably beaten) by a farmer. Fortunately bad information was not confirmed. Dogs look good, they`re fed with shiny fur, quite trustful. They had fresh water in their boxing and farmer assured us that dogs can play in the yard. We handled information about sterilization, feeding etc.
Labki

12.08.2009:SZARIK

Szarik wasn`t lucky in his life... He was found a while ago on the street… He was skinny, dirty and wary… We will never know what has happened to him in the past. Szarik found new home and started to trust and love his human, but his luck didn`t last very long. His master was taken ill. He knew there wasn`t much time left but his only worry was to find a good, new home for Szarik. Szarik is in Foundation at the moment. He isn`t young and beautiful but he really wants to love again…
Szarik

Dalia was found in one of villages near Krosno. She is a young (approx. 6 months old) female dog. She`s very clever and she`s looking for contact with human.
Dalia

16.06.2009:SUNIA

Surely, there was a time when Sunia had her home. She is house trained and calm. Even though she`s young (approx. 2-3 years old) she gave birth not once. Sunia was running by a very busy road. Residents of nearby village were feeding her and they notified us about the problem. We took her to the vet, vaccinate her. Sunia has her new home with one of ladies from the village.
SUNIA

03.06.2009:MYSZKA

Mysia is a nice, few years old female dog taken from one of villages near Krosno. Unfortunately she is absolutely wild. She is scared of human and she`s reacting by growling for any effort of contact. Surely she needs time and experience of our Chairwoman to find out that not every human is bad.
Mysia

03.06.2009:DUSZEK

We were notified about a dog knocked down by a car in one of Krosno estates. At the scene we discovered that Duszek is very sore and he can`t stand on his legs. He`s getting better in Foundation

31.05.2009:KARAT

Karat came back to his hood, to our area. We took Karat in July last year after his owner passed away. At the beginning of May this year we received a call from a lady who found him on our website, and she just fell in love with him. Karat is in his new home.

30.05.2009:LALA

First time I`ve seen Lala in the winter when she was running around block of flats. Next day I found out that she have owners and they live nearby. Since that moment I could see that Lala was playing sometimes with children, but she was very wary about adults. After few months I found out that Lala doesn`t have home anymore, that her previous owners even thrown her of the window… Lala is in Foundation and she`s learning how to trust humans again.
Lala

26.05.2009:FRĘDZEL

Frędzel was thrown out of the car. “Loving owners” hoped probably that he`ll end up as a food for wolfs and foxes. But someone with the heart in the right place noticed him on the car park in the forest. Frędzel is a cute, not old dog which will give all heart just for bowl of food and some strokes.
Frędzel

26.05.2009:FLORA

Once, surely she was a beautiful and dignified female dog. But time went by, Flora`s snout went grey, her paws weren`t that fit anymore. Possibly she preferred to rather sleep than watch the yard… Of course that`s just our guess. One day Flora appeared by a local shop in one of villages. Owners of the shop were feeding her, they were hoping that someone is looking for her, that she only got lost. Unfortunately no one was looking for her. Hopefully someone will give her home.
Flora

25.05.2009:ACCIDENT

22.05.2009:SZCZERBATEK

22.05.2009:KAŚKA and KAJTEK

A call from nearby village- one of citizens took care of homeless female dog few years ago. Now when bitch gave birth and her children grew up he can`t cope to keep them anymore. Kaśka, Kajtek and his brother were living in a tiny garden, they were quite skinny but not starved. They are German shepherd type dogs only smaller.

27.04.2009:SZCZOTEK

During the winter a wandering small dog came to a lady who lives in nearby village. Lady sensitive for dog misfortunes found for him a piece of warm place to stay and bowl of food. Unfortunately, she couldn`t keep him for good. Szczotek went to the Foundation.
Szczotek

23.04.2009:Witek i Witka

Two homeless dogs in nearby village were reported. Small ones were probably thrown away from the car by “differently loving” owners. Residents of the village were feeding dogs, which found their “home” next to the fence surrounding one of properties. Commune leader, who have a few dogs as well taken from the streets, notified us about Witek and Witka. Both dogs are already in Foundation.

22.04.2009:Trade

As a response for report from the Town Guard we undertook intervention in connection with one of Krosno`s residents selling puppies nearby town market. Puppies were kept in the cardboard box in the sun and without any access to the water. After arriving at the scene we discovered that after Town Guardians request puppies were moved into the shadow and water was provided as well (water was dunked immediately) . On our request to show immunization book of puppies’ mother, owner started to tangle his story at first, but later he articulated his opinion about our actions. He was given one week to go to the vet to check up bitch (she is losing her fur on the crest) and immunize her. During inspection one week later was discovered that the owner ignored our requests. He was informed about law consequences of not immunizing the dog and he was given another week to implement our requests. Town Guard is dealing with trading without relevant permit.

16.04.2009:ŚMIESZEK ; KRESKA ; MUSZKA

Three homeless dogs were reported; they lived in one of nearby villages for a while. On the spot it turned out that Kreska and Śmieszek live there since last year. Residents were feeding them and during really low temperatures were allowing them to sleep in the rooms or staircases. Muszka lived in that village few years time, and she was even regularly inoculated by one of the residents. After dogs were taken one lady, resident of that village, has adopted Muszka (she found out, that she cannot even think about not having ever again possibility to stroke Muszka). Kreska and Śmieszek, after they were inoculated, went to Foundation.
Kreska is young, a little bit over one year old, small and beautifully colored female dog. From information collected from residents of the village seems that Kreska might be pregnant, as not long time ago she had her heat period and she was running around at the time with other dogs in the village. She will be spayed soon.
Śmieszek is a young, approximately one year old, wonderfully cheerful and friendly male dog. He is quite big. Śmieszek is really lively young dog which needs to be trained a little bit. A Person, who will take him, will have a friend which wants to learn and play.

01.04.2009:SPRYTEK

A small wandering dog came to one of Krosno`s residents. But because he already had a female dog (found in the woods) and dog had some visible skin disease, he was worried that his bitch may catch that illness as well. He asked us for help. We took him to the vet immediately. He is an older, approximately 12 years old dog. He used to had a home, but no one was taking care of him for a long time, that`s for certain. He had so long claws that he could barely walk. Big amount of huge fleas didn`t make his life easier as well. Vets recognized allergic after-flea skin infection. Sprytek has been fleeced, got his medicine and his deformed claws were cut. After all treatments he visibly liven up and he checked the consulting room accurately?.We are hoping that there is a man somewhere, who will fall in love with small “lap-dog”. Sprytek eats as much as a sparrow, all he needs as a walk is quick “around the house”, and most important for him will be gazing with love in his owner and giving his little head under his Master`s hand.

01.04.2009:ALMA

I took my crowd to the woods, right behind town barriers to storm them out. At some point Misio disappeared and I couldn`t see him. Calling out for my runaway wasn`t effective, I could only hear his yapping from many meters distance. There was nothing else to do, just going in the barking direction. When I finally got there I saw her…Frightened and huddled piece of misery. Alma was emaciated and no one knows for how many days she wasn`t eating anything. And we will want know that ever. Alma is approximately 5 months old bitch, German shepherd mix. She just dart upon food and drink at home. She clings to people and she learns quickly. Misio is proud of himself that he accomplished properly his duty. :-).

We visited again an older lady in Ożarów. Owner applied our prior directions- she is not taking new dogs anymore, she spayed one of the bitches, and she has appointments for another ones. We took with us two puppies: Hops and Drops, and we`re looking for new homes for them.

25.03.2009:KARINA

A bitch was reported, she was running away from dogs molesting her. She was so exhausted that at the end, she was collapsing in the park nearby Town Hall. Our volunteers went there and found completely worn out bitch, which wasn`t even strong enough to try banish anyone. It turned out that Karina is in her heat period and that`s the reason of dogs interest. Monika and Sebastian took her under their care and allowed her to sleep off her tough moments. She will be spayed in Foundation in few days time, as soon as she`ll get her strength back, and will be prepared for adoption.

18 March 2009: FAKSIK and ENTER
Last week we got two calls on the same day. Faksik was thrown out of the car (the same story again and nobody saw the registration marks!). Enter strayed into one of the yards in Krosno, the owner started to feed him and so he stayed. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay there for good. Yesterday both furries were taken to the Foundation with a hope for better life.

15 March 2009: MARTEL alias MARCEL

FOLLOW UP VISIT
After a while Marcel adapted well to the new place and is doing great as a guard dog. He's put on weight and has grown into a male dog (despite his earlier "demasculization" ;-)) He's vigilant and devoted to his owner.
MARCEL

28 February 2009: PINIOL alias KUBUS

We helped to rehome Piniol-Kubus from the Dogomania forum. We responded to the appeal of the dogomaniacs who asked to check the prospective perm home for Piniol. After the home was accepted, we helped to transport the dog from Warsaw to Krosno and rehome.

24-25 February 2009: Intervention in Ozarow Mazowiecki

INTERVENTION AWAY FROM HOME
A call for help for an elderly lady of Ozarow Mazowiecki, who has over 20 dogs and a few cats and is unable to look after her animals any longer. The intervention was carried out on 24th and 25th February 2009. When we arrived we found 24 dogs on the property: 11 bitches (5 of them spayed), a 3-week puppy (with his mother), two 3-4-month puppies (vaxed on 25 February 2009), one old male dog (ca. 15 years) - in very bad condition, unable to rise (put to sleep on 25 February 2009), a 1-year dog with severe epilepsy, aggressive, unresponsive (put to sleep on 25 February 2009). Other dogs and cats on the property were in good condition, well-groomed. The decision on euthanasia was made by the vet present at the intervention on 25th February 2009. It was agreed with the owner that the bitches would be spayed (the first appointment on 3 March 2009). The Foundation will help to rehome the dogs.

25 February 2009: OTERO

A malamute mix bitch who strayed into a farmyard in a nearby village. She was taken in for a week by a good farmer, but unfortunately he could not keep her. Otero is very composed, friendly to people, but afraid of other dogs, rather getting off their way than looking for a fight. She's already at the Foundation.
OTERO

24 February 2009: KASTOR

The dog who was roaming around Krosno. He is not emaciated because he he's very clever with people. He fawns, smiles and snuggles into your armpit. He can also give a nice kiss, putting his muddy paws on your chest, ignoring the fact that you have your mink coat on ;-) He can give you a paw, asking for a goodie or a stroke. Finally, someone spotted Kastor roaming around and let us know. Kastor has already gone to the Foundation.
KASTOR

22 February 2009: LAPKA

Someone, who dares call himself a man, threw out a little girl-dog on the railway track, probably hoping that the train will do the job which he himself had no courage to handle. Good people spotted the puppy and took her into the plant's premises. Lapka grew up, made friends with the men who saved her life. They loved her and were looking after her. Unfortunately, the manager didn't like the idea of a little dog living on the company premises. Despite our efforts and declarations that we'll have her vaxed, dewormed and spayed, he decided that the dog must be taken away immediately.
Lapka is a sweet little girl, who - once she overcomes shyness and fright - pushes her way to your lap and asks for caress. Lapka is about 4 months old and she's a beautifully coloured, curious puppy. On the plant premises she was chasing the cats, but only to play with them, not to harm them. We hope that Lapka will be rehomed soon. Tonight she's going to the Foundation.

27 January 2009: SKANER

The dog who has been playing "catch-me-if-you-can" with us :. After the New Year's fireworks a German shepherd type dog ran away from one of the properties in Krosno. The family put up posters about the missing dog. A similar dog was reported so the owner went to the place, but instead of his dog he found emaciated Skaner. He took the dog, put him in the pen and called us. Before we arrived, Skaner left the hospitable place by jumping over the pen's fencing. The situation repeated again. After a few days, we got a call about a stray dog in one of the nearby villages. We went there only to find that it was our missing Skaner :. He is a young shepherd type dog with a black muzzle. He's so cuddly and trustful. When he arrived at the Foundation, he immediately made friends with all the dogs and looked into every nook and cranny. We hope he will be rehomed soon because he can make friends so easily.
SKANER

27 January 2009: KAJKO rehomed

Kajko was rehomed to a house with a garden and he immediately made friends with his new owners' few-year-old daughter. Before we signed the adoption papers, they were already romping about on the living room floor :. Kajko's new home is 100 m away from out flat, so we will have an eye on the little boy and see him growing up :.

23.01.2009:KOT

A call from the Town Hall - there's a cat lying by one of the blocks of flats in Krosno. When we arrived, we found that the cat was in a very serious condition, probably injured (man, car?). We immediately called a vet. The examination confirmed that unfortunately the cat was in agony - white mucous membranes due to haemorrhage, injuries on his paws and mouth, injured spine. The vet decided to shorten the poor animal's agony.

8 January 2009: KAJ

Kaj crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Unfortunately, there was no hope for Kaj. The doctors decided to free him from pain. Farewell, dear cuddly boy!

6 January 2009: KAJKO

An unwanted Christmas gift?
At noon, on a sunny freezing day (-20°C), in a small village near Krosno a car stops, the door opens and a little puppy lands in the bank of snow. Fortunately, a good-hearted woman saw the scene (unfortunately, she didn't remember the registration marks of the car), took the puppy and called us. Kajko was taken to the Foundation and we hope he'll soon forget his unfortunate beginnings with humans.
KAJKO

6 January 2009: FAFIK

A call about a dog who for many days had been roaming around Krosno. Fafik was reported to us by the shop assistants where the clever redhead used to steal cookies from the lower shelves. It took us a couple of days to spot the little thief but the shop was closed for Christmas. After Christmas the dog was caught and spent a week at our neighbour's (thanks for the temp home and the kindness offered to to Fafik). On 6th January, our little boy was taken to the Foundation together with Kaj and Kajko.

5 January 2009: KAJ

A call from the nearby village. Another homeless dog, thrown by a "loving owner" out into a freezing night. When we arrived, we found an extremely emaciated creature. He must have been beaten - he's dead scared of males. At first sight we thought our beauty was a bitch at advanced pregnancy. In his fur - which was thick despite his emaciation - we found a few ticks of bean-size. We immediately took him to the vet, where - to our dismay - it turned out that he was not a bitch, but a male dog with an enormous belly. Could it be a bladder? The vet attempted a catheter but surprisingly there was not a drop of urine. Suspected abdominal dropsy. We needed an ultrasonography, but in our little town there's none and in the nearby voivodeship city no vet clinic was eager to help. They told us to come the following day. There was nothing else we could do. The dog received analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs, we gave him a warm place, a full bowl and lots of love. Tomorrow, we'll continue the struggle for his health (hopefully not for his life) and a loving home for our new friend. Our sweet cuddly boy. We hope you'll be fine and you'll be soon romping around your new and caring Master, who will never ever leave you.
